Etimos's webcam video November 4, 2011 08:39 AM After the apparent mixed results of my RCHOP chemotherapy, I have since been moved to a different regime involving an autologous stem cell transplant. I have already collected my stem cells, ready to be transplanted, but unfortunately my tumor grew faster than expected during the downtime, so my transplant has been delayed pending a secondary chemo treatment, and possibly radiotherapy.

It was a celebration of life on Saturday as Peterborough's Elsa Norton made her first public appearance since undergoing a bone marrow transplant a year ago. Elsa appeared at Living Hope Church as her family organized a blood donor and stem cell swabbing event hosted by the Canadian Blood Services and the One-match Stem Cell and Marrow Network.

Alumni Profile: Dr. John Tisdale, NIH Researcher, Stem Cell Transplants and Sickle Cell – Video

Pre-Medical Society's Outstanding Service Award in Medicine Award -- This year's recipient is John F. Tisdale, Class of 1986 and the son of Belton and Sara-Gantt Tisdale, Class of 1956. After completing his degree in chemistry at the College, John received his medical degree from MUSC in 1990 and did his internship and residency at Vanderbilt in internal medicine
