Scientists have made an important discovery for the treatment of male infertility – The Saxon

Scientists from the U.S. made the discovery, which could subsequently solve the problem of male infertility, which may cause including disease coronavirus.

Wilkinson and his colleagues have solved one of these problems. They learned how to grow the so-called spermatogonia A-type one of types of stem cells that live in the male sex glands. They constantly multiply and serve as a kind of reservoirfrom which are constantly replenished stocks of spermatocytes stub future sperm.

As shown by experiments on animals with transplantation of these cells can be eliminated from the many forms of infertility. The problem, however, was the fact that scientists did not know how to distinguish these cells from other cell types that live in the testes, as well as to cultivate them by artificial means using reprogrammed stem cells.

Recently, as noted by Wilkinson, his team solved this problem. Scientists have developed a technique, which can be used to determine the type of each individual cellbased on unique sets of RNA, characteristic only for them. Using this technique, scientists tried to isolate pure culture of spermatogonia A-type and to understand which genes were active within them.

After analyzing three dozen samples of similar cells obtained from healthy donors, the researchers came to the conclusion that the main obstacle to their growth is a chain of genes AKT, which causes a stem cell to turn into a blank sperm.

Locking her job, Wilkinson and his colleagues were able to grow a large number of spermatogonia A-type and to maintain their existence for several weeks. Further experiments with these cells, as scientists hope will pave the way for the creation of the first effective techniques for using stem cells to treat male infertility.

DENVER (CBS4) A little boy from Denver had a bad tummy ache that would not go away. Despite warnings to avoid hospitals because of the pandemic, his concerned parents rushed him to an emergency room. That smart decision has made fighting stage 4 cancer a little easier.

On a Tuesday in July, Ty Davis hits the hall in a shiny red Tesla, his kid-sized vehicle of choice at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children (RMHC).

The hospital has become, sort of, his second home. He first arrived back on March 28th.

Ty woke up about 10:00 that morning screaming in pain, Robyn Davis, Tys mother, told Health Specialist Kathy Walsh.

It was the start of the coronavirus pandemic. Fear was keeping people from hospitals.

But Robyn and Terrence, Tys father, were so worried they took Ty to an ER. Scans showed a mass in his stomach.

I punched my truck a couple of times, threw myself on the ground, what do you do? asked Terrence.

Ty was rushed to RMHC. The diagnosis was metastatic neuroblastoma, a tumor was above his kidney and the cancer had spread to his bones. Getting him care was critical.

A few more days, I think it could have been a much more dangerous situation than it was, said Dr. Jennifer Clark, one of Tys oncologists.

Clark said Ty has endured brutal treatment including five rounds of high dose chemotherapy and major surgeries. He spent his fifth birthday in the hospital.

Hes amazing, hes a very tough kid, hes got a great attitude, said Clark.

His parents say, during his first 11-week stay, it was the tiny Tesla that got Ty out of his room.

The doctors, nurses and staff got him better.

Hes already bouncing back, said Robyn.

I cant thank God enough, said Terrence.

Ty will have more time to tool around in the Tesla at RMHC. He has two stem cell transplants ahead, then months-long drug therapy.

Its stressful, said Robyn.

But all are hopeful this brave little boy will be cured.

A Word of Caution on Stem Cell Clinics

We must caution the consumer to be wary of clinics that promise to deliver curative stem cell therapies, and to exercise extreme caution when considering enrollment in a clinical trial being offered by a stem cell clinic. It falls to the consumer to investigate whether the clinical trial is being conducted with FDA oversight, or whether a therapy accompanied by numerous testimonials has been scientifically proven safe, effective, and FDA-approved.

Fortunately, oversight of stem cell clinics is increasing. On Thursday, March 22, Governor Inslee signed into lawHouse Bill 2356. This legislation will require Washington State stem-cell clinics to post a visible notice that their injection procedures are not FDA-approved and that patients should consult with primary-care providers before undergoing one.

At this point in time only a few FDA-approved stem cell-based treatments are available. One such treatment is the use of blood stem cells and umbilical cord stem cells to treat and even cure individuals with blood cancers such as leukemia.

The methodology used by most of the stem cell clinics currently advertising available therapies is to remove adult stem cells from one part of a persons body, minimally process the cells, and then inject the cells into another part of their body. This use of adult stem cells has never been vigorously tested. It has never been demonstrated to be safe or even effective. These widely-advertised clinics are able to circumvent the FDA because they minimally manipulate the cells, a regulatory loophole that enables them to offer this treatment without regulatory oversight.

A highly publicized article in the New England Journal of Medicine reported cases of severe vision loss in patients with macular degeneration who had received injections of their own adipose stem cells into their eyes. *The injections were conducted by a Florida stem cell clinic under the auspices of a clinical trial that had not been reviewed by the FDA.
