(Part 7 of 9) Ann Tsukamoto, Ph.D., spoke at the Scientific Writer's Seminar, a workshop presented on September 17, 2008 at CIRM headquarters in San Francisco. Tsukamoto is the Chief Operating Officer at Stem Cells, Inc., a Palo Alto based company that has begun a stem cell based human clinical trial for the treatment of Batten disease. Tsukamoto reviewed the process of getting the therapy approved for the clinical trial.

Stem Cell Based Diabetes Treatment: Alan Lewis – CIRM Science Writer’s Seminar – Video

(Part 5 of 9) Alan Lewis, Ph.D., spoke at the Scientific Writer's Seminar, a workshop presented on September 17, 2008 at CIRM headquarters in San Francisco. At the time of this presentation Alan Lewis was president and CEO of Novocell (now ViaCyte), a La Jolla-based company that has been developing a potential therapy for diabetes.

Deafness: Spotlight on Stem Cell Research – Karen Doyle – Video

(Part 2 of 4) Karen Doyle, MD, Ph.D., spoke at the "Spotlight on Deafness," an educational event presented at the CIRM Governing Board meeting on March 12, 2008. Dolye briefly summarized the current clinical options for treating hearing loss and discussed the promise of stem cell research in overcoming the limitations of hearing loss treatment.
