(Part 5 of 7) Evan Henry, a Parkinson's disease patient advocate, and Birgitt Schuele, a professor at The Parkinson's Institute, spoke at "Synapses Firing: Connections Made", a patient advocacy event hosted by the California stem cell funding agency (CIRM). The 100+ people in attendance heard from patient advocates about living with neurodegenerative disease and from scientists about recent progress in stem cell research that may lead to new treatments.
