Reports: F1 Legend Michael Schumacher is Set for Another Operation on His Road to Recovery – Essentially Sports

F1 and Ferrari legend Michael Schumacher is all set for another operation as he continues on his road to recovery. It has been 6 and a half years since Schumacher suffered a brain injury when he had a skiing accident in the French Alps. After the first couple of years, news has been scarce regarding the health of the 7-time world champion. However, in a bit of an update, Schumi is scheduled for a transfusion.

Italian source, Contro Copertina claims the aforementioned. They say that Dr Philippe Menasche, who is regarded as a pioneer in cell surgery will be in charge of the operation. Menasche was also in charge of a similar operation on Schumacher last year. Regarding the aim of the operation, Menasche said, The goal is to regenerate Michaels nervous system.

Dr Nicola Acciari claims that Michael Schumacher is suffering from muscle atrophy and osteoporosis. Both these conditions arise due to the lack of physical activity. Acciari adds, Over the past 20 years, science has made enormous progress in the field of stem cell treatment. But that doesnt change the fact that we still know little about the human brain. We are not able to say what results it (the treatment) will bring.

Earlier this year, When Dr Nicola Acciari spoke to Contro Copertina she had said, We must imagine a person very different from the one we remember on the track, with a very altered and deteriorated organic, muscular and skeletal structure. All as a result of the brain trauma he suffered.

Generally, the Schumachers have been very private about any news about the F1 legends health. However, Former Ferrari team principal, Jean Todt had revealed last year, that he had watched a race with Schumi at the Germans house in Switzerland. Todt said, He does not give up and keeps fighting.

We wish Schumi the best of luck on his road to recovery.
